Finance for Tomorrow wants to leverage digitalisation for the green revolution ! The Challenge Fintech for Tomorrow is a project of the Paris financial center developed by Finance for Tomorrow. It constitutes a source of partnerships and development opportunities aiming to strengthen the contribution of Fintechs to the ecological transition.
Since 2018, the Challenge has been mobilising the energies of the French players of innovation in finance to support the sustainable transition of the economy. With the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) and the EIT Climate-KIC, Finance for Tomorrow rewards French and international start-ups that facilitate the financing of the ecological transition and reduce the environmental impact of the financial sector. In 2021, what are the technological breakthroughs to be harnessed in favour of sustainable finance?
At the heart of innovation processes, fintechs entrepreneurs are important actors capable of supporting the transition of the financial sector to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreements. They seek, for example, to ensure the quality of non-financial data and the transparency of financial flows, or to mobilise new sources of financing. They are developing digital solutions that enables them to gain market shares, particularly through products for financial inclusion, but which also position them as key partners for all financial and economic players in the sectors of the ecological transition.
This year, applications will also be open to start-ups developing non-financial projects, whose digital solutions have the capacity to support the evolution of professional practices. The Challenge will therefore approach the financial sector not only as a field of expertise, but also as a field of prospection, to support the emergence of new technological uses and processes.
