At the request of Minister Olivia Grégoire, Secretary of State to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery, in charge of the Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy, Finance for Tomorrow launched a Place group dedicated to impact finance in March 2021.

This group brings together more than 80 institutions from the Paris marketplace in four working groups focusing on (i) definition, (ii) measurement, (iii) conditions for development and removal of obstacles, and (iv) international promotion of the French vision of impact finance.<!u002du002d /wp:paragraph u002du002d> <!u002du002d wp:paragraph u002du002d>After publishing a definition of impact finance, Finance For Tomorrow presents two new publications.

A scale to assess the fund’s potential contribution to sustainable transformation, with three objectives:

  • Estimating a fund’s contribution potential;
  • Taking into account the key principles of impact finance in the assessment;
  • to use the contribution potential score for investor information purposes.

This evaluation logic, which for the moment only concerns funds, is also intended to be used in complementary evaluation grids for real assets (real estate, infrastructure) as well as for financing, in the months to come.

With a view to public consultation, Finance for Tomorrow and the Groupe de Place Impact invite you to test, until January 14, 2022, this evaluation grid of the fund’s potential contribution to sustainable transformation on your various funds. Your feedback will be essential in refining this tool and enabling its calibration to guarantee its effectiveness.

For any information concerning the working group or to contribute to the evolution of this grid, please contact Philippe Clerc.

The recommendations drawn up by the industry group to develop impact finance focus on four areas:

  1. Regulatory and related requirements (hard and soft law);
  2. Mobilization of the financial ecosystem and interaction with the world of education and research;
  3. Developing access to information on impact finance;
  4. offering impact products.
