Press release
May 24, 2020

With a first accredited curriculum, Finance for Tomorrow and NEOMA Business School are launching a partnership in favour of sustainable finance.

Finance for Tomorrow, a branch of the Paris EUROPLACE association, which aims to make green and sustainable finance a driving force for the development of the Paris financial market, becomes a partner of the full time Specialized Master in International Financial Analysis at NEOMA Business School. This partnership will significantly strengthen the teaching dedicated to green and sustainable finance within this curriculum, in particular by consolidating the interventions of professionals in the sector. Moreover, it reinforces the provision of content to offer concrete areas of investigation to students and the supervision of professional thesis. NEOMA’s degree course is therefore the first course to be labelled by Finance for Tomorrow.

Making our students the actors and future decision-makers of tomorrow’s sustainable finance

Finance for Tomorrow, brings together private, public and institutional actors willing to commit to green and sustainable finance, combining long-term performance and respect for environmental and social criteria. By becoming a partner of the Specialised Masters in International Financial Analysis, the association will make its expertise in green and sustainable finance available to students. « Our students are the actors and future decision-makers of a finance serving the real economy, our society and our planet. That’s why we are very pleased to have Finance for Tomorrow as a partner in our curriculum. “, explains Catherine Karyotis, Head of NEOMA Business School’s full time Specialized Master in International Financial Analysis. This new partnership, which comes into effect as of the start of the 2020 academic year, is fully in line with the activities of Finance for Tomorrow, which seeks to mobilize the financial ecosystem to redirect financial flows towards a low-carbon and inclusive economy. « Today, we are bringing together professionals who are mobilized around these issues and who want to see finance change, and today’s students are the professionals of tomorrow”, adds Anne-Claire Roux, Managing Director of Finance for Tomorrow. “It is our responsibility to raise their awareness regarding these issues, but also to provide them with the keys to comprehension and the tools to become tomorrow’s players in this new finance”.

The partnership between Finance for Tomorrow and NEOMA Business School is even more meaningful in a context of health crisis, where finance must more than ever be at the service of the economy and the planet. « The financial efforts expected in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis are still insufficient to transform the economy and align it with sustainable development objectives. As we emerge from the unprecedented health crisis we are currently experiencing, it is essential to continue this dynamic in a significant way. “, points out Catherine Karyotis.

Varied synergies within the Specialised Masters in International Financial Analysis

As part of this partnership, members of Finance for Tomorrow will be regularly involved in the educational content of the programme. “Our experts will lead courses covering all aspects of sustainable finance, to reinforce knowledge related to Environmental, Social and Governance issues and thereby integrate them into the core competences of future graduates,” concludes Finance for Tomorrow.

The partnership will also be an opportunity for experts from the Paris financial market to get involved in the investigative work carried out by the students during their studies, especially as part of their professional thesis. Therefore, they will participate in the supervision of certain thesis in the form of professional supervision in collaboration with a professor while providing students interested in the topics of sustainable finance with information and contacts to support them in their understanding and mastering of these issues.

First course accredited by Finance for Tomorrow

This new partnership, placed in particular under the sign of the societal utility of finance and its ethics, makes NEOMA’s full-time Specialized Master in International Financial Analysis the first Master’s program accredited by Finance for Tomorrow. The collaboration between the two players is fully in line with the positioning of the program, which always placed the balance between academic content and professional interventions at the very heart of its DNA. Dedicated to financial analysis for the evaluation and management of assets, for the past 15 years the programme has been helping students develop the key skills needed to become tomorrow’s decision-makers and financial experts, endowed with a true sense of ethics and capable of managing in an environment that has become unstable and complex.
