Finance must support the ecological transition by contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations and complying with the Paris Agreement. The financial sector has a responsibility to transform its practices and redirect financial flows towards a sustainable and inclusive economy, compatible with the objectives of limiting global warming to less than 2°C and, more globally, with planetary limits, while respecting social justice. This is the context of the Fintech for Tomorrow Challenge, a project of the Paris financial center supported by the Institut de la Finance Durable. While fintechs have experienced strong growth in recent years, those focusing on green finance will account for just 8% in 2021 (France Fintech). As entrepreneurs have the capacity to propose alternatives to traditional models, they are essential players in supporting the transformation of the financial sector. A source of partnerships and development opportunities, the Fintech for Tomorrow Challenge aims to strengthen the contribution of fintechs to the ecological transition.
