Academic Partnership for Sustainable Finance
Our objective? Meet the challenge of recruiting finance professionals entering the job market by helping to integrate sustainability into initial finance training courses.
What is an academic partnership?
The development of climate and, more generally, ESG expertise within financial institutions is a key challenge in meeting environmental and social challenges. Market players are facing increased recruitment needs in terms of ESG talent, and also need to train in-house employees in sustainability issues. Led by the Institut de la Finance durable, in partnership with the Institut Louis Bachelier, the aim of the ‘academic partnership’ project is to respond to the challenge of recruiting finance professionals entering the job market, by supporting the integration of sustainability into initial finance training courses. It is aimed not only at French courses specializing in sustainable finance, but also at general finance courses currently undergoing an ecological transition. The initiative is designed to meet the demand from students for training in sustainability issues, and from the market for professionals trained in these aspects. It aims to lend credibility to training courses that meet the criteria of a set of specifications drawn up with IFD members, but also in consultation with academic players and civil society. This partnership supports the ecological transition of academic players in the finance sector by proposing an approach to integrating these issues into curricula, by offering content (notably via the sustainable finance knowledge repository made available) and contacts with sustainable finance professionals from its network. IFD is also committed to coordinating the network of partners involved in this initiative.![]() |
