The Institut de la Finance Durable and BCG publish a white paper on catalytic capital to accelerate private sector mobilization in development finance

New milestone for development finance: Building a catalytic capital repository.

In a context of rising pressure on public funding and the growing urgency of sustainable development goals, mobilizing private capital is no longer optional, it’s essential.

In partnership with Boston Consulting Group, the Institut de la Finance Durable unveils a new report proposing a concrete, actionable solution: building a catalytic capital repository.

It is a centralized platform to improve access to concessional capital and drive private investment at scale.

Why it matters:

Despite the growing role of blended finance in bridging the $4 trillion #SDG financing gap, volumes remain far below potential.

  • Increase transparency across the ecosystem,
  • Match capital with high-impact projects,
  • Support more efficient, targeted private capital mobilization,
  • Enable better collaboration between public, private, and philanthropic actors.

This is a call for cooperation. As private institutions step up, it’s time to equip them with the right tools to go further.
